The view from the bedroom of a home that has been partially destroyed by Israeli shelling. Across the valley is Gilo, which is Hebrew for Jala. Gilo has developed into quite a large town and is described by Israel as a neighbourhood of Jerusalem. In reality it is built on land that lies within Palestine and was owned by the village of Beit Jala. The family whose home this was for three generations have been given alternative accomodation in the area, however the family have been split up and no longer live together. |
