After the direct physical attacks we were then subjected to percusion grenades, tear gas and finally live ammunition. The Israeli Army reported the use of live ammo but stated that all shots were fired into the air and not directly at demonstrators. Of the forty plus injuries treated at a nearby hospital one man had been seriosuly wounded by a bullet to his stomach. Other less serious injuries (including my own) were treated at the scene.
